| Messengers of Faith dolls are designed to help parents and educators teach children important Bible stories. These dolls are a 3D teaching resource, featuring recorded Scriptures at the push of a button. By introducing Bible characters and their stories to children" one character at a time," children can begin to grasp an overall view of Scripture. Messengers of Faith dolls can be used to help children: a. Learn Bible stories. b. Understand Biblical survey and the chronological history of the Bible. c. Learn the cultural background surrounding the Bible characters and their stories. 1. Teach the Bible story.
First use the strategy discussed in the preceding section to teach the child the
Bible story surrounding the verses that you want the child to memorize.
2. Engage the child.
Gain the child's interest in memorizing the verses from the Bible and tell them that
you will allow them to use the doll to help them. Tell them why it is important to
know Bible verses.
3. Listen to the Scriptures.
Cue up the beginning verse by pressing the button on the back of the doll until
you come to the last verse of the sequence.
This will be your starting verse. You can discover the sequence of verses on the
"voice script" that accompanies the doll or go to each individual product page to
print out the scripts.
Have the child listen to the verses very intently as you review each one together.
4. Recite and repeat.
Have the child speak the verses aloud while listening to the recordings. Praise the
child for every attempt with encouraging words and smiles as they recite the
verses with the recording.
Encourage the child to continue this process for awhile until you can determine
that the child is reciting the verses with confidence and is speaking the verses
just a little bit faster than the recording.
Depending upon the child, this process may take minutes, hours or days but
eventually they will be able to recite the verse without the use of the recording. It
is always a good practice to reward the child's efforts in some way that will be
meaningful to them. This will encourage them to want to remember more Scripture.
5. Recite and then play the recording.
Help the child understand how well they have done by challenging them to recite
the verses by memory before pushing the voice chip button. Use this as a time to
test their ability and encourage and reward their efforts.
